Phd Students

Md. Masudur Rahman
PhD StudentMasud is a first year PhD student who joined the lab after completing his Master’s from the same department. He works with crowd source knowledge base (e.g., StackOverflow) and existing software repositories (e.g., GitHub) to mine useful insights or patterns, and develops techniques and tools to apply them in different software maintenance activities such as concept location, traceability link recovery, program comprehension, code quality analysis and code search. Details of his research can be found in his homepage

Farouq Al-Omari
PhD StudentHis research interest is in Software Engineering, more specifically program analysis, code comprehension, and software maintenance.

Jeffrey Svajlenko
PhD StudentHe is doing research in software maintenance and evolution. Details of his research can be found in his homepage

Muhammad Asaduzzaman
PhD StudentHis research interest focuses on the development of techniques and tools to help developers to understand and manage their source code more meaningfully. Currently, he is working on software evolution analysis. Details of his research can be found in his homepage.

Manishankar Mondal
PhD StudentManishankar has recently joined the lab as a Ph.D. student after finishing his M.Sc. from the same department. His research interest is in software maintenance and evolution. Details of his research can be found in his homepage

Md. Saidur Rahman
PhD StudentHis research mainly focuses on the development of tools and techniques to support software change impact analysis and change propagation. Besides, He is interested in code clone analysis, mining software repositories and pattern recognition. Details about his research and publications can be found in his homepage

Shamima Yeasmin
PhD StudentShe is working in the area of mining unstructured data, more specifically on software bug report analysis.

Md Nadim
M.Sc. StudentMy current research work is focused on dealing with the data from software evolutionary history such as analyzing different commits/revisions, investigating the impact of future change request based on the thousands of previous change history, exploring the effect of different code smells (i.e. code clones) in the software repository, etc. Besides, I am also doing some research work on the automatic classification of bug data using some Machine Learning Algorithms. I am trying to figure out some effective research direction which can significantly impact on the academic and industry level software research activities.

Judith Islam
PhD StudentHer primary research is on software clones and bugs and empirical software engineering.
