Ajmain Inqiad Alam
PhD StudentAjmain is a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at the University of Saskatchewan, focusing on trustworthy and sustainable software engineering. He completed his M.Sc. at the same institution, with a thesis titled “Application of Large Language Models in Code Clone: Benchmarking, Evaluation and Detection.” Ajmain earned his B.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering from BRAC University, Bangladesh. Professionally, he has experience as an AI Engineer in Japan. One of the work of Ajmain has received DIstinguish Paper Award at FSE 2026.
Aditi Dhali
PhD StudentAditi Dhali is a Ph.D. student in the Software Research Lab (SRLab) at the Department of Computer Science, University of Saskatchewan, where she works under the supervision of Dr Chanchal K. Roy. She also serves as a graduate teaching assistant in the same department. Her research focuses on technical debt and cognitive debt arising from AI-generated code, examining how the shortcuts introduced by AI coding assistants quietly accumulate into hidden costs for developers and codebases. Through repository mining, controlled experiments, and taxonomy-building, she aims to help the software engineering community better understand and mitigate these emerging forms of debt.
Beyond research, Aditi is involved in several volunteer initiatives. One of them is serving as the VP of Finance of the Computer Science Graduate Council (CSGC). Here, she manages the council’s budget and funding allocations, ensuring resources are used effectively to support graduate student events, research initiatives, and community programs. Before starting her Ph.D., she worked as a lecturer at Daffodil International University, following the completion of her BSc and MSc in computer science from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh. Outside of academics, she enjoys connecting with people, singing, playing badminton, traveling, and taking part in community work, along with a natural curiosity for finding patterns in everyday life.

PhD StudentShamimur is a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at the University of Saskatchewan, specializing in software engineering with a focus on code review processes. His research examines the understandability and civility of code review discussions to enhance collaborative software development.
Mala Barman
PhD StudentMala is pursuing Ph.D. in the Software Research Lab within the Department of Computer Science at the University of Saskatchewan. Her research falls within Software Engineering, emphasizing empirical software engineering and software repository mining. She has an M.Sc. and a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering from Jahangirnagar University, received in 2017 and 2016, respectively. Prior to beginning her Ph.D., she held the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Netrokona University, Bangladesh. She has been awarded the esteemed CGPS 75th Anniversary Recruitment Scholarship from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Saskatchewan.
Palash Ranjan Roy
PhD StudentPalash is a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science at the University of Saskatchewan, specializing in Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence. He completed his M.Sc. at USask, where his thesis, “An Exploratory Study on the Roles of LLMs in Code Similarity Detection and Generation,” received the Best M.Sc. Thesis Award from the Department of Computer Science and was nominated for the WAGS Distinguished Master’s Thesis Award.
As the President of the Graduate Students’ Association (GSA), Palash represents all graduate students at USask and serves on the University Senate, Non-Academic Misconduct Committee, University Executive Committee, and Governance Committee.
He has earned multiple international and national awards, including Best Paper, Research Excellence, and Best Presenter awards, recognizing his outstanding research and leadership within the academic community.
